Home again
First it was snow, then
I was in the U.S. a month and then at home five days (two
of which clinic) then I throw the dogs out working
in Stockholm for more than fourteen days.
But last weekend had the
dogs holiday when Barbro and I had a fun clinic for
instructors on Lekeberga. One afternoon we had
time to go to compete at Svanberga (thanks Lena who took
care of the sheep). Nix finished second and zap third,
and a big congrats to Hakan Hagglund who won. Now we are
all tired and happy and will now be at home in nearly a
week before we go back to Stockholm again.

A picture to my american friends,
who dont have tails on their sheep :-)

Wisconsin and Illinois
The two last places we
visited were Wisconsin and Illinois. I was allowed to
lend a nice dog called Gem. I also tried a
fantastic camera that made me tired of my own. I hope to
publish those pictures later. You will have to
deal with my pictures until then, look in my photo-site.
Nice to be home!

10.01.16 The Winter continues
We’ve got plenty of snow
here at Hulan, makes it a bit hard to herd but clean
dogs and floors. The year ended with some bad news, Meg
got x-rayed with C-hips as the result. It looked pretty
good but the bowls were not deep enough.
We’ve had our first case of
osteochondros
in the kennel, a puppy of Nix and Bobbys Joe. The injury
was just placed on one side and there was only need for
a small operation. We know keep our fingers crossed for
a successful recover.
Ann-Charlotte came by for a quick visit on her way home
from Thailand to pick up her dogs. She took Copy with
her to Piteå to give him a calm and nice upbring. Lena
was in need for a new project so she took Meg with her.
I’ve been told she’s doing great. My friends are
amazing!

09.12.22 Merry christmas and A happy new year!

09.11.17 New pup and Tyne is x-rayed
with A-hips
A new puppy has arrived,
Copy from Norway. He is Tyne’s (who I like so very much)
baby brother. The results from
Tyne’s
x-ray
has come, excellent hips just as
her sisters who still lives
in Norway with
the
breeders Finns and Ragnhild Johansen.
Ylva and Lotus is their
parents.
Otherwise life has been
about dog training and teaching. I’ve had some dogs to
train but they have
now
gone home. Olav Tiller have
picked up Rex, Skogsvallarens Paco passed his herding
test so Jim Englund has started to work with him at
home. Barbror Svanberg has made a promise to take care
of Maid who have been here since the Swedish finals,
until Karin Haker can take her with her to Wales.
Dean now lives with Lars and
Lack is going to try herding both sheep and cows. This
means two dogs less and more time to train my own.
09.10.29 Open trial
The 15th and 16th of October there was competitions at

days later during the weekend there were competitions at
Lisa in Maglarp. The competitions were well organized as
usual. Nix won twice and Please did good as well.
The weekend after (24-25/10) I was at Jonas in
Skabergsjö and with me I had brought three dogs. Zap,
Please and Nix, the all did very good. Nix got in second

When
I am awy a lot, it will be long
between the updates.
First there were the Nordic
championsip in Norway. The
first day Zap decided that the sheep
wasn´t allowed to go over a road in
the middle of the cross-drive. It
was stupid of him and we lost alot

to reach the final. The second day
he did well.
Next
weekend it was the swedishcup and
Zap did wery well, concider temorary
stomac problems, He got the 6th

Pennsylvania
Now have we been
visit the last place on our tour in U.S. We stayed whit
Nancy Cleveland. The clinic was at her dauther Alixs
farm, she had 300 ewes, which she took care of in a
fantastic way. Since it was hot, the fans blew and Alix
told me that when it was realy hot it could be 10 large
fans in the barn. Between the boxes went plastic tubes (see
picture) so there was no need for waterbuckets. Al lambs
was prined whith the same number as their mothers so you
could easy see who belonged together if someone get sick.

Filippe was a very
small lamb who lived in the kitchen (until he was strong
enough to move out to the barn) He joined us in the
evenings. More pictures on the photo page

We now have been
outside of San Diego with Ann and Joe Mock. It's
been really nice and really hot! On the farm
there are several mountains with holes in which
Indians used to grind acorns in. There's been
rattlesnakes in all the places we've been, but
it's probably even more common here. We have
looked for them (with our feet held high) but
without results. There are even those who keep
clinics to teach the dogs to watch out for
rattlesnakes. I met a working Bearded collie (ISDS-reggad)
and he was very talented! Here in the
neighborhood, there are vineyards and we've had
time to go around on tastings. Now we're going
to Pennsylvania.

California
I've been outside of San
Diego and lived with Karen Smith. It was cold the first
day but after that it got warmer and warmer! There are
cayoties here aswell and also mountainlions. If you
don't have something to guard the sheep or just a few of
them, you close them up in the evening.
Here is a protein-rich grass called foxtails that's very
dangerous for the dogs. It can drill in and comply with
the blood and dogs die from this. You can be forced to
operate to get these seeds out. When foxtails has dried,
and release its seeds the dogs are not allowed on thoose
fields, it's too dangerous.
It is not uncommon with fires here and a few years ago a
fire started in the field we were on and they are still
in the process of rebuilding houses. There are plants
that are full of water planted around the houses to try
to prevent any fires to reach the houses.

Texas
It has been really hot
and really cold here in Texas. There are lots of cactus
with large thorns. They have Hairsheep here, they lose
their wool so you don't have to shear them, there are of
course other types of sheep also. There are Coyotes that
can take the sheep, so you either have lamas that go
with the sheep and protect them (if it is a good lama)
or guard dogs. We had a clinic at Emils place and he's
got a lama (Charlie) here and 4 pyrene in another place
where he's got sheep. I met relatives to Key and Hot.
Bobbys Joes mother lives here, her name is Meg. Betty
who has Meg also had a puppy with her after her. I met
many people and gained new friends. Now we're going to
Carlifonien :-)
